What motivated 'Saved By Faith'?
The core motivation for the name comes from Ephesians 2:8.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."
Ephesians 2:8
We understand that it is not works that save us, but rather the grace of God that we have been given through the faith that we have in Christ Jesus. Were it not for this grace, we would not have anything to stand on, and would be slaves to sin.
What does Saved by Faith attempt to achieve?
Spreading the Gospel to those who don't know about it can be hard, and it can take a lot of courage to find people whose hearts are open to receiving The Message. Wearing a shirt that is Gospel-inspired can be a great conversation starter to break the ice and meet strangers in the middle, like how Christ does with us.
This is not to say that our shirts replace the need for Christians to live a Godly lifestyle that lets the people around them know they are different. As Christians we should strive to be more like Jesus, so that others may be impacted by our actions.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
John 13:34-35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
We hope that our apparel can be a supplement to, and not a replacement of, a Christian's actions and evangelism.
Giving Back
Saved by Faith is a Detroit-based company. While our apparel is world-wide, we want to give back to the local community and help others as the Gospel says.
To accomplish this goal, we give 10% of our profits towards helping spread the Gospel in underserved Metro Detroit communities.
Using the Gifts that God Gave Me
In my day job, I am a software engineer and have created many web applications for marketing purposes. I wanted to find a way to use my skills to further the Kingdom and do my part of being the body of the Church.
I've done service projects in my local community and serve weekly at my home church, but I wanted to find a more widespread way that I can use my gifts to impact the world.
Because of my conviction, I created Saved by Faith to create apparel that is rooted in Scripture that is not only stylish, but also meaningful. I hope you enjoy wearing Saved by Faith apparel!
